What Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look Shows
Captured entirely from in-game footage on PlayStation 5, Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look is the first substantial look at GTA 6 in more than 15 months, following Trailer 2 in May 2025. Rather than a short teaser, it plays out as a lengthy montage of story missions and open-world moments, including:
- Extended gameplay sequences — gunplay, cover mechanics, and combat across Leonida
- Dual-protagonist switching between Jason and Lucia, mid-mission and in free roam
- Story beats that flesh out the criminal partnership at the heart of the game
- Open-world detail — Vice City and the wider state of Leonida at a scale previous trailers only hinted at
How the Release Worked
Rockstar announced Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look on August 6, 2026, in a first-of-its-kind partnership with Netflix:
- Netflix premiere: Thursday, August 27, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. ET — a six-hour timed exclusive
- YouTube & rockstargames.com/VI: the same day at 9:00 p.m. ET, free to watch (embedded above)
Netflix described the anticipation for the special as unprecedented, and the rollout marks one of the most unusual marketing beats in the franchise's history.
The Road to November 19, 2026
